The Greater Area Bay Branch invited Dennis Wong and Anel Idriz to share their professional project management experience on this Webinar- “Delay Analysis from a technical and legal perspective” on 21 June 2023.
Dennis has a wide experience of various forms of commercial dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration, litigation, and adjudication. In particular, he specialises in resolving complex contractual and construction disputes. Anel's experience is diverse across the construction industry including private residential buildings, leisure, commercial office, large mixed-use developments, hospitals, education, casinos, heavy civil engineering, highways, and railways.

It is our pleasure to have both professionals sharing their experience in Singapore and Hong Kong. It is great to see how they plan and work on the delay analysis from planning to decision with global case studies. They have introduced the role of Delay Expert in Programme management.

Mr Dennis Wong
Dennis studied law and obtained his legal qualification in New South Wales, Australia in 1999. Dennis became a Hong Kong solicitor in 2005 and had since engaged in construction law practice at international firms in Hong Kong and China.
Dennis has wide experience of various forms of commercial dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration, litigation and adjudication. In particular, he specialises in resolving complex contractual and construction disputes.
Dennis has handled many international and domestic arbitrations involving construction projects in Hong Kong, Macau, London, Dubai, Oman and Saudi Arabia. He is experienced in advising various stakeholders in the construction industry including governments, employers, contractors, engineers, and a variety of other clients, on construction related dispute resolution in Hong Kong. He has extensive experience in handling construction disputes arising from final accounts, delay, extension of time, liquidated damages, variations, defects and other construction issues.
Also, he has a vast amount of experience in non-contentious matters, especially construction projects in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Africa and the Middle East. He has drafted joint venture agreements, construction contracts and consultancy agreements for his clients. Dennis also has experience in defamatory claim, ICAC investigation and industrial summons cases.
Dennis is regarded as the up and coming / next generation construction lawyer by Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and Who’s Who Legal in 2018 to 2022. He is the exclusive winner of the Client Choice 2021 Award for Construction in Hong Kong.
Mr Anel Idriz
Anel is a Senior Director in the Global Construction Practice at Ankura. Anel is a Delay Expert who specialises in programming and forensic delay analysis for clients within the Asia Pacific Region, advising on complex disputes as a result of delay or disruption on construction and engineering projects.
His experience is diverse across the construction industry including private residential buildings, leisure, commercial office, large mixed-use developments, hospitals, education, casinos, heavy civil engineering, highways and railway.
With a strong construction background on large and complex projects, he has a proven ability to review, investigate, assess and manage complex disputes, ensuring all resolution and negotiation strategies are considered.
Through the experience Anel has gained at an international level in engineering and project management roles, his skills are widely sought after by clients including his ability to work in a logical and hands on manner.
He also advises in NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contracts for major infrastructure projects, most recently, on the Crossrail Project in London.
This event is suitable for professionals with any level of experience.
