Gas absorption heat pump
BG 34/2021, The Illustrated Guide to Renewable Technologies, 2nd edition, written by Michelle Agha-Hossein and David Bleicher and published by BSRIA in 2021, states: ‘Most heat pumps use the vapour compression refrigeration cycle, driven by electricity, to provide heating. Gas absorption heat pumps instead use the absorption cycle, driven by a gas burner. This is the same cycle used in absorption chillers. Gas absorption heat pumps can provide both heating and cooling in buildings, as well as domestic hot water.’
