[edit] Galvanised wire as a product
Galvanised wire is a product made of high-quality low-carbon steel wire rod, which has many excellent characteristics and a wide range of applications.
[edit] Production process
The production process of galvanised wire mainly includes the following steps:
- Raw material selection: Use high-quality low-carbon steel wire rod as raw material.
- Drawing and forming: The low-carbon steel wire rod is processed into steel wire of the required diameter through the drawing process.
- Pickling and rust removal: The rust and impurities on the surface of the steel wire are removed by the pickling process.
- High temperature annealing: The steel wire is annealed at high temperature to improve its toughness and plasticity.
- Galvanising: The steel wire is galvanised by hot-dip galvanising or electro galvanising process to improve its corrosion resistance and service life.
[edit] Classification
Galvanised wire is mainly divided into hot-dip galvanised wire and cold-dip galvanised wire (electro galvanised wire) according to different galvanising processes:
- Hot-dip galvanised wire: It is dipped in heated and melted zinc liquid. It has a fast production speed and a thick but uneven coating. The minimum thickness allowed by the market is 45 microns, and the maximum thickness can reach more than 300 microns. The colour is darker, it consumes more zinc metal, forms an infiltration layer with the base metal, has good corrosion resistance, and hot-dip galvanising can be maintained for decades in outdoor environments.
- Cold-dip galvanised wire: In the electroplating tank, zinc is gradually plated on the metal surface through the unidirectional current. The production speed is slow, the coating is uniform, the thickness is thin, usually only 3~15 microns, the appearance is bright, and the corrosion resistance is poor. Generally, it will rust in a few months.
[edit] Characteristics
Galvanised wire has the following main characteristics:
- Good toughness and elasticity: Galvanised wire has high strength and toughness, and is not easy to break and deform.
- Excellent corrosion resistance: The galvanised layer can effectively prevent the steel wire from rusting and corrosion, and extend its service life.
- Smooth and bright surface: The surface of galvanised wire is smooth and has good gloss.
[edit] What Is High Tensile Wire?
Application fields: Galvanised wire is widely used in the following fields:
- Construction field: used for building bundling, guardrails, scaffolding, etc.
- Handicrafts: used for weaving various handicrafts and decorations.
- Woven wire mesh: used to make various screens, protective nets, etc.
- Highway guardrail: used for isolation and protection of highways.
- Product packaging: used for packaging and fixing various products.
- Daily civilian use: used to make daily necessities such as hangers and hooks.
Precautions: When using galvanised wire, you need to pay attention to the following points:
- Avoid moisture: Galvanised wire is easy to rust in a humid environment, so try to avoid long-term exposure to a humid environment.
- Avoid scratches: The galvanised layer is thin and is easily scratched and worn, so try to avoid scratches during use.
- Regular inspection: For galvanised wire used for a long time, its surface state and performance should be checked regularly, and problems should be found and handled in time.
[edit] Summary
In summary, galvanised wire is a high-quality product with many excellent properties and a wide range of applications. If you have a sufficient budget, you can pursue PVC coated, vinyl coated wire, and stainless steel wire. It will provide long-lasting corrosion resistance and good ornamental properties.
