Fire safety regulator
Setting the bar. A new competence regime for building a safer future. The Final Report of the Competence Steering Group for Building a Safer Future, published in October 2020, defines a fire safety regulator as: ‘A competent person who is authorised in writing by an enforcing authority or by the Secretary of State to regulate premises under the applicable fire safety legislation for those premises.’
