Mezzanine
According to the International Property Measurement Standards (IPMS): Residential Buildings, published by the International Property Measurement Standards Coalition (IPMSC) in September 2016, a mezzanine is:
An intermediate or partial storey, other than a catwalk, between the floor levels or roof of a building and usually fully or partially open on one or more sides. A permanent mezzanine is ‘a mezzanine that is an integral part of the structure of a building’, whereas a temporary mezzanine is ‘a mezzanine that is not an integral part of the structure of a building.’ |
