School
Approved document B, Fire Safety, Volume 2, Buildings other than dwellinghouses (2019 edition), defines a school as:
'A place of education for children between 2 and 19 years old. The term includes nursery
schools, primary schools and secondary schools as defined in the Education Act 1996.'
Secured by design, NEW Schools 2014, published by Secured by Design, defines schools as:
‘A building or collection of buildings located on one or more sites and used for the purposes of full and part time education of pupils between the ages of 2 and 19 and other community uses in line with the ‘Extended Schools’ agenda.’
