Contract exchange
The New Homes Quality Board Glossary of the terms used in the Code and Guidance, published by The New Homes Quality Board in 2021, defines contract exchange as: ‘the term employed in England and Wales used to describe the formal stage at which the Contract of Sale is exchanged between the Developer and Customer. In Scotland, this is known as Conclusion of Missives.’
