Training datasets
Training datasets are defined in he UK Government 'Artificial intelligence (AI) glossary' from January 2024, as "The set of data used to train an AI system. Training datasets can be labelled (for example, pictures of cats and dogs labelled ‘cat’ or ‘dog’ accordingly) or unlabelled."
The term relates to a way of training machine learning systems for a specific application, using labelled or unlabelled data or both. See also supervised learning, un-supervised learning and semi-supervised learning.
