The New Building Safety Wiki launched in June of 2024 as a comprehensive, new, free online centre of building safety information to help promote increased awareness of fire and life safety issues in the planning, commissioning, design, construction, surveying, maintenance, and management of buildings in the UK.

With just under 500 articles directly relating to building safety on the wiki and many more indirectly related, here is a list of the 25 most popular news items since the wiki was launched, with the total number of views nearing some 10,000.

However, since the publication of the final inquiry report, this theme is continually developing from the ongoing remediation of buildings to the upcoming review of the approved documents. Building safety is now (as it always should have been) a core topic for the industry, driving professional competence, industry change, and building improvement.

At Designing Buildings we believe an industry in flux needs to share what it can, whenever it can, and that the Building Safety Wiki is an ideal place for this, as it is updated daily, accessible, free, and easy to use. So if you have a viewpoint or an experience that might help other professionals, or just a gap in the definitions that needs filling, please do create a profile and share it with your industry to help a joined-up movement for the better.
