Tower 42 was originally known as the NatWest Tower, or National Westminster Tower (having been originally built as the headquarters of NatWest Bank). It is located at 25 Old Broad Street in the City of London.
It was designed by Swiss architect Richard Seifert and completed in 1980. It is 183 m-tall and has 47 storeys. This made it the tallest building in the UK until 1990, when the One Canada Square at Canary Wharf topped out.

According to Clancy, the Natwest tower is no more than 5 mm out of plumb or vertical line.
