Green tunnel

A green tunnel is a cut-and-cover tunnel with soil spread on top to integrate into the landscape, thus minimising visual impacts and making the presence of infrastructure such as a railway less noticeable. Access tracks and vegetation can be placed on the surface above the tunnel and it can be used for amenity, parkland and agricultural uses etc.

A green bridge is a crossing that allows the safe passage of wildlife over infrastructure such as rail lines.
