Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark GRESB
Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) is an investor-driven organisation that was launched in 2009. Its purpose is to gather data on the performance of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) global assets and use that data for the purpose of comparison.
GRESB annual ESG assessments are generated annually for:
- Real estate benchmarks.
- Real estate development benchmarks.
- Infrastructure fund benchmarks.
- Infrastructure asset benchmarks.
The organisation’s original focus was solely on the real estate sector, but it now examines infrastructure investments as well. Recognising the growing significance of sustainability, GRESB also incorporates information from several international green building certification programmes including the BREEAM.
