Cable route
Approved document S, Infrastructure for the charging of electric vehicles, published in 2021 by HM Government, defines a cable route as: ‘A safe, unobstructed route from the power supply to the envisaged electric vehicle charge point location, for electrical cabling to be installed in the future.
It goes on to state that: ‘In this document, cable routes are described only in the context of where electric vehicle charge points have not yet been installed. Where electric vehicle charge points have been installed, they should be considered to have adequate cable routes.’
