CIAT Chief Executive steps down
[edit] Chief Executive, Francesca Berriman MBE to leave.
Francesca will step down from her role at the end of the year, after 34 years at the Institute.
After 34 years at the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), the Chief Executive, Francesca Berriman MBE HonDTech, has decided it is time to leave the Institute and will be stepping down at the end of the year.
Francesca said: “It has been an absolute privilege working for the Institute since November 1988 and I have witnessed many changes in the industry and within CIAT. The fraternity which is CIAT has been the key which has taken SAAT, and its driven and passionate founding members of the 1960s, to evolve into the respected and valued global organisation it now enjoys being. This has been a complete team effort; and I am proud to have been a part of the team to achieve so much in such a short amount of time.
The built environment sector has changed beyond recognition with health, wellbeing, life safety at the forefront for creating communities, together with the need to tackle the very real environmental challenges, skills shortages, and impacts of BREXIT, the war in Ukraine and COVID.”
On accepting her resignation, President Kevin Crawford PCIAT said: “On behalf of Executive Board, we would like to wish Francesca all the very best for her future. We thank her for her dedication, strength of character and her commitment to the discipline and profession of Architectural Technology and to our Institute. As we look towards our 60th Anniversary, the next Chief Executive will be leading an Institute which has been very well looked after and taking us on the next part of our exciting voyage for CIAT.”
Francesca’s replacement will be appointed in the coming months.
