Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC)
BRAC stands for "Building Regulations Advisory Committee." BRAC was an advisory body that provided guidance, advice, and recommendations on matters related to building regulations and associated technical standards. The committee played a crucial role in advising government departments, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders on the development, implementation, and interpretation of building regulations in England.
BRAC was abolished for England and the technical working groups transferred to Building Advisory Committee (BAC) in April 2023. The Building Regulations Advisory Committee for Wales will remain.
