Yorkshire Lights
The Yorkshire Light is a traditional type of window also known as a Yorkshire sliding sash or horizontal sliding window. These windows date back to at least the 17th century and are thought to be one of the oldest types of sash windows.
A Yorkshire Light is a mullioned window with two lights. One light is fixed and the other slides from side to side along horizontal grooves.
The simple design does not require a weighted sash, since the movement is horizontal.
