Manufacturing Information
Within the construction industry, information is a vital part of the decision making process, ensuring that the right decisions can be made by the right people at the right time.
The RIBA Plan of Work published by the RIBA in 2020 defines manufacturing Information as: ‘Information prepared for the manufacture of Building Systems during Stage 4 (technical design). This detailed information will usually be prepared by a specialist subcontractor using Descriptive Information from the design team with the resultant Manufacturing Information submitted for comment and approval prior to manufacturing. Manufacturing Information feeds into computer-aided design and manufacturing (systems in factories to facilitate effective manufacturing processes.’
