Manual opening vent
Planning Gateway One - Glossary, published on the Planning Portal, defines a manual opening vent (MOV) -as: ‘A vent provided for smoke control in common parts which is operated manually rather than activated by smoke detectors.’
This is as opposed to an automatic opening vent (AOV) which which opens automatically when smoke is detected by smoke detectors.
