Skills and Competency Framework, Supporting the development and adoption of the Information Management Framework (IMF) and the National Digital Twin, published by the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB) in 2021, suggests that: ‘Cyber Security Specialists use technologies, processes and controls to protect internet-connected systems such as hardware, software and data from cyber attacks. They also protect against the unauthorised exploitation of systems, networks and technologies. They are able to promote business continuity and trust in an organisations ability to prevent themselves from cyber attacks and malicious intervention that could harm other organisations, individuals or the country.’
