Cant bricks
Short Guide: Traditional Scottish Brickwork, published, on 1 March 2014 by Historic Environment Scotland, defines cant bricks as: ‘Bricks with either one corner (single cant) or two corners (double cant) cut off diagonally.’
Cant bricks are often also referred to a closure bricks because they may be used to close the inside of masonry corners examples of such bricks are: king closer, bevelled closer, and mitred closer. Cut bricks on the other hand are brick that are cut orthogonally such as a queen closer, half bat or three-quarter bat.
