Humidistat
Collins Fix It Manual was published in 2003. It was created for HarperCollins by Jackson Day and conceived by David Day, Simon Jennings and Albert Jackson.
It defines a humidistat as: ‘A device that regulates the relative humidity of the surrounding air’.
A humidistat may also be referred to as a hygrostat, humidistat control or humidity sensor. It is similar to a thermometer, but it uses hygrometers to measure relative humidity levels - and not temperature. It then controls these levels (similar to how a thermostat controls temperature).
Humidistats are used in places - such as greenhouses or climate controlled warehouses - where levels of humidity require monitoring and control. In some buildings, humidistats are incorporated into heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to measure relative humidity and control the HVAC equipment.
