Resilient ecosystems
North Ayrshire Local Biodiversity Action Plan, 2019-2031, published by North Ayrshire Council, defines resilient ecosystems as: ‘Ecosystems which are functioning well, enabling them to recover from disturbance. Increasing the robustness of our ecosystems is increasingly important if we are to mitigate and adapt to the scientifically predicted ecological impacts of climate change and human population growth.’
