Permit Expediter
Permit expediter, in general is a term used more in the US or Canada, than in the UK, where there isn't a direct equivalent, as the role of seeking building permissions is normally combined with other roles such as project management, architect or client advisor.
A permit expediter refers to a trained professional who advises throughout the administrative or permitting process to keep construction projects on schedule and within budget. Permit expediters typically have backgrounds in planning, construction, real estate, or architecture and have knowledge of local compliance codes and zoning requirements. They advise on topics such as the plan check process, entitlements, the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) and so on.
