Deep retrofit
Heritage Building Retrofit Toolkit, published by the City of London Corporation in March 2024, defines Deep retrofit A retrofit which has included work to the vast majority of the building fabric as well as changes to the building’s heat source and ventilation systems. This type of retrofit would typically occur at the same time as a major renovation or extension and could be expected to realise around a 70% reduction in energy demand.’
