Coding plan
The National Model Design Code, published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government in January 2021, defines a coding plan as:
‘A plan at local authority level showing the local areas to which a code will apply. The coding plan can show:
- Existing built-up areas
- Landscape designated areas
- Heritage areas
- Protected open space
- Special policy areas
- Development areas’
