Aspects of construction works
'ISO/TR 21932:2013 Sustainability in buildings and civil engineering works — A review of terminology', defines construction works as: ‘everything that is constructed or results from construction operations’.
It suggests that aspects of construction works include:
- Economic aspects: aspects of construction works, parts of works, processes or services related to their life cycle that can cause a change to economic conditions.
- Environmental aspects: aspects of construction works, parts of works, processes or services related to their life cycle that can cause a change to the environment.
- Social aspects: aspects of construction works, parts of works, processes or services related to their life cycle that can cause a change to society or quality of life.
And that:
- The economic impact is the impact to the economy, wholly or partially resulting from economic aspects.
- The environmental impact is the impact to the environment, wholly or partially resulting from environmental aspects (or the change to the environment, whether adverse or beneficial, wholly or partially resulting from environmental aspects).
- The social impact is the impact to society or quality of life, wholly or partially resulting from social aspects.
