Transsexual

The University of Oxford Equality and Diversity Unit, Training, resources and glossary [accessed February 2020], defines transsexual as a: ‘Term formerly used to describe a person with gender dysphoria. Increasingly trans people prefer trans or transgender instead, although some may still use this term.’

Stonewall states: This was used in the past as a more medical term (similarly to homosexual) to refer to someone whose gender is not the same as, or does not sit comfortably with, the sex they were assigned at birth.
