BACnet

Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, defines states the networking protocol BACnet protocol: ‘…stands for Building Automation and Control Network. It was developed by ASHRAE. It is an open protocol, meaning it is not owned

by a single manufacturer and hence can operate over many different network communication technologies. Many BMS manufacturers have controllers which can function as a BACnet master device on the network.’
